Legowelt is one of the producers that made me love electro music. I still can remember when I discovered his famous "Disco Rout" track.
He produced a huge number of tracks, with very various nicknames such as Squadra Blanco, Gladio, Polarius, Raheem Hersel, Salamandos, Smakos, Venom 18… He also produced in team with Orgue Electronique (Macho Cat Garage, The Chicago Shags), Guy Tavares (Los Hermanos Rodriguez), TLR (Mr Clavio), Luke Eargoggle (Catnip)…
Nowadays he is more focused on "chicago house" sounds such as Gladio’s last release, "Hadrian’s Wall EP" on Mighty Robot Recordings. But he used to be the wizard of synth-lines and melodic electro tracks.
Here is a brilliant example of this, a pretty old track, really hard to get on vinyl. It was released in 1998 on the very limited 50 copies CD "Reports From The Backseat Pimp" and later available on a 500 limited copies LP on Crème Organization in 2003. The drum part is done by Brian Schijf, most known as Brian Chinetti or Orgue Electronique.
