Way before being famous for his numerous albums, such as Oxygène or Equinoxe, and for his large outdoor live acts, Jean Michel Jarre, the world famous electronic French producer, did released a few records under other nicknames.
Among theses nicknames, The Superfly, Jammie Jefferson, Electric Choo Choo Band and the one that interests us now, Pop Corn Orchestra.
In 1972, he released a 7inch record of two tracks. On the A side, there was a cover of Gershon Kingsley’s famous track "Pop Corn", widely known thanks to the Hot Butter’s cover release. On the B side, there was this little gem called "Black Bird (Bridge Of Promises)". A simple organ-like baseline synth which is simply melancholic and sad, but at the same time, really efficient to makes you feel the languorous mood of the artist.
It already has all the elements that made Jean Michel Jarre famous later on.
